Thawing out & turtle trotting

We are finally starting to thaw out here in the Pacific Northwest. I've been pretty much housebound since Thursday afternoon when my wonderful hubby picked me up from work. You have to understand that we do not usually have storms like this, so when we do, all hell breaks loose! We actually closed the library for three days. I can't remember that ever happening before. It's supposed to get warmer today and things should melt (I hope). The highways aren't bad but all the side streets are still pretty horrible. I hope someone comes to plow around the library before we are set to open at 10.

Anyway, I should have got lots of stitching done, but I didn't. I ended up reading instead and watching the Olympics (and napping...I am still trying to get over this nasty bug that attacked early last week). So my turtle trot post is basically the same as my stitch from stash post (a few posts down)...the three pieces I have stitched on are Gilded Cage, Shades of Autumn and the Abigail Gould Sampler,  but I haven't got any further than those photos show. Hopefully there will be lots more progress before next month!

For now I have to make some sense of the mess outside. Thanks for taking the time to visit!

  1. Wow I am amazed as we haven't had any snow this year which is the first year in years that it hasn't snowed! I hope you get your melt soon. Please send some my way so I can have a snow day off work! x

  3. It sounds like being housebound came at a very good time when you needed to rest and recover. If you're like me, I doubt you would have done so! I hope you made it in to work today safely.

  4. Well I hope the bad weather is behind you now, seems like so much of the country has been suffering with a bad winter. Nothing wrong with napping...your body needs rest to recuperate. I'm sure you'll catch up with your stitching soon!

  6. Feel better soon! I hope you get some nice weather to help thaw things out. We are still waiting for our storm to hit probably this afternoon.

  7. Take it easy and rest now. Enjoy the Olympics. That's what I do, and that has helped me with my needlepoint. My most recent, small WIP has made huge progress thanks to the Olympic Games.

  9. I've been getting caught up on reading blogs. Glad you got to rest and I too have been enjoying the Olympics. On your last post I've seen your photos of your wips and every one of them are beautiful. Maybe by now you are thawed out from the cold storms. love Annette

  10. At least you had a chance to rest and get over your bug a bit: hope things settle down at work soon so you have a little more spare time. We havent had any snow this year, and happy to keep it that way ;-)
