not the way I planned to start stitching the new year!

Not sure why I thought any "plans" I might have made would go smoothly...

The stitching plan was to start the 2015 Prairie Schooler Santa on New Year's Eve...the pattern didn't come in time and my grandson spent the night and we welcomed in the new year together. New Year's Day was to find me starting Crazy Socks from Rosewood Manor...but that day was spent playing with my grandson and continuing nursing the hubby through a bout of vertigo. Today we woke up to snow falling...something that doesn't happen too often here, and I spent a lot of time "thinking" about what I should stitch, finally filling in our 2016 wall calendar and wondering how/if I could get to work tomorrow.

I finally picked up a needle and thread when I found this little ditty while searching for something else. It is Lizzie Kate's Did You Ever Stop to Think...seemed appropriate! I did some sleuthing and realized that I started this in January of 2011 (yikes!) as part of one of those 'start a bunch of new designs in January' challenges. You can see that I didn't get very far that January! Hopefully, it will get finished this January!

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2016! Did everyone start a new piece on New Year's Day?

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog!

  4. I remember that challenge...haven't done one since. What plans? I try hard not to make them since I have retired...and I did start a new project on New Year Day.

  5. I still have pieces from Crazy January challenges that are in my WIP basket. Cute Lizzie Kate, it should be a quick finish.

  7. LOL! on the bunch of starts not getting very far! I saw somewhere that there is a 60 project challenge going on this year...that's impressive! I wonder how many will complete 60 in a single year. But I tip my hat to those trying!

  10. Happy New Year Lynda! I think spending time with your grandson trumps all other plans :) Sorry to hear that your hubby has been under the weather...sending hugs to you both.
I never take part in the big batch starts, because I just never come out of them feeling like anything but a huge failure, and that's not what we cross stitch for...am I right? LOL, but I do say "jolly good" to those who do it!
    Stay warm
    Hugs

  12. I don't remember what I did that day. It was such a long time ago. I have a huge pile of needlepoint projects & knitting ahead. Some of them are very late. I have to hurry so that I get them done.
